Shoot Hoops With Your Child

As simple as this sounds, I would have to say that the biggest tip I can give for basketball parents is to just get out there and shoot hoops with your child.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a basketball game or shooting drill, but rather just a shoot-around. You will be amazed at how much that means to your child. Plus, it's a great time to bond with them.

In addition to the bonding time, this is also a great opportunity to work on their shooting skills, if they are up for it. Sometimes kids just want to shoot the basketball for the fun and enjoyment of it, while other times they are more interested in really fine-tuning their skills. They'll let you know what they want to do.

The important thing for us, the basketball parents, is to just get out there with them and have some fun. Everything else will take care of itself.

This would be my number one tip for youth basketball parents.
