My favorite basketball quote is this -

It doesn't say a lot about the game as such but it really says it all.
In this day and age basketball is all about the stars and the promotional opportunities and the money. And no longer about the sport and the skill and the pleasure that it still manages to give to its many millions of fans and players worldwide.
Pretty sad reflection of our times.
