Inspirational Quote from Larry Bird

"A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals."
---Larry Bird

This is a quote from Larry Bird that applies to basketball and to life in general. Anyone who knows Larry Bird's life story is aware of his passion and work ethic.

He grew up in the small backwater town of French Lick, Indiana. He worked as a garbage man. He wasn’t picked up by a big college but had an incredible career at Indiana State and almost single-handedly got them to the National Championship game.

His time with the Boston Celtics was filled with many successes as well as three NBA championships.

Larry Bird is an inspiration for every underdog!

Larry The Legend Knows Basketball
by: Joe Waters - webmaster

This is one of my favorite basketball quotes of all time...thanks Jim.

Larry Bird is definitely an inspiration, not only for the underdog, but for anyone who is willing to work hard to achieve their goals.

Yes, he has some God-given talent, but he also worked harder than anyone else in the NBA to get to the elite level he was at.

In my eyes, Larry Bird was the greatest NBA player in the history of the game.

Excellent quote Jim, thanks again!
