Even though I've always been a huge Lakers fan, I'd have to agree with you. Bill Russell's career was just incredible. There's no doubt that he was an amazing athlete. But I think the one thing he possessed that made him so good was a desire to dominate and be the best. He had that mental edge over his opponents. I think that's something that's missing in a lot of the NBA players today. He wanted to win every single game, every year. You don't find many players like that today. The other thing that makes his accomplishments that much better is the fact that he was only 6'9" tall.
